A monster ate it. Sprang out of the floor, bit it off, and disappeared.

I think it says a lot about this place that it actually sounds exactly like something that would happen.

Maybe we can get it to spit it back up.

I'm not sure I want it back anymore. [gross.] Think I'd rather try to grow a new one.

Unfortunately, I've attempted that twice now, so... I may have to wait until I get my full power back. [and, in case that needs clarification:] Vampires can regenerate wounds naturally.
