He's a strange person, but he was always kind to me. Is it strange to say I'll miss him?

Not at all. I feel the same.

... Maybe it was better, that he got to spend his last moments with a friend. Someone who'd listen.

I'm not sure anybody else would let him talk.

[He knows what the general air towards Fukuda is. It's hard to say they're wrong for it, but... they're still friends in the end.

That's what made watching him die so painful.]

[she chuckles at that.] I would have. But... yes. Most wouldn't.

It wasn't his time to die, but he was able to go out with some dignity. So... thank you, for allowing him that.

[housewolf]

[He nods.

And then he shudders, because he really doesn't like thinking about that ice cold corpse in his hands shattering into pieces.]

[she reaches out to put a hand on his arm, up by his shoulder.]

You're stronger than I thought.

[housewolf]

[He offers her a soft, cautious smile.]

... I'm doing my best here. That's all, really.

I know. But it's one thing to survive, and another to do it without compromising who you are.

You're a compassionate person. That's admirable.

Still, I don't want to change who I am.
